Historic GECO Rail Bridge -
Located just east of Warden Ave. and St. Clair Ave.
Duration: 1 hr
Public Anyone on or off Facebook
Join us on the historic GECO Rail Bridge over St. Clair Ave. just east of Warden Ave. to celebrate all the great work and progress on the West Scaborough Rail Trail this year. We'll be creating a temporary art installation to bring attention to the bridge which is the keystone piece to creating the WSRT and serving hot chocolate and donuts.
You can access the bridge from Warden Hilltop Community Centre and hike 400m east and south to the bridge (red line on the event picture), from Santamonica Blvd. at St. Clair Ave. E. and hike 130m (orange line on event picture) or from 689 Warden Ave. and hike 400m north (light blue line on event picture). The bridge is marked with a short yellow line where all the lines converge at St. Clair Ave. We will meet on the bridge.
Let's kick off the New Year for the West Scarborough Rail Trail with a short, fun, family hike to help bring attention to this valuable neighbourhood asset that will help connect neighbourhoods and connect established trails that lead to Lake Ontario via the Don Valley Trail and Rouge National Park via the Meadoway.
