WSRT AT THE PARK PEOPLE ART INSTALLATION LAUNCH

The Park People Art Installation Launch event showed us that Torontonians want to see more in our green spaces. And we believe the West Scarborough Rail Trail could achieve all of these things:
πŸ”Ήcommunity gardensπŸ”Ήevents with local artists and public art installationsπŸ”Ήdigital maps with educational contentπŸ”Ήbetter infrastructure for bikingπŸ”Ήgood connectivity with other green spaces. Now, why is this important for the West Scarborough Rail Trail? πŸ’The suggestions provided by people are all things that the West Scarborough Rail Trail has the potential to provide! πŸ›€️🌞✅areas for gardening of local flora, attracting pollinators and local biodiversity✅public art installations and art events, like seen in the West Toronto Rail Trail✅Better infrastructure for walking and biking!✅Connections to other green spaces - the WSRT is the missing link to what could be a 25km off-street ribbon of active transportation and recreational green space that would help the city achieve it’s goal of connecting Lake Ontario to Rouge National Park.Join us in our efforts to make this dream a reality, and finally create a rail trail that was first proposed over 50 years ago by UTSC students! πŸ€πŸ”— Check out our Linktree to learn more about the project, how you can get involved, and to find our survey where you can share your thoughts about the West Scarborough Rail trail! πŸŒ²πŸšΆπŸ›€️🚢🏼‍♀️🌳#wsrt #scarborough #railtrail #communitywellbeing
